Naturhistorisches Museum History

The one of the renowned museums in Vienna was opened during the year 1889 along with Kunsthistorisches Musuem.  These two museums actually obtain identical exteriors and facing each other across the Maria Theresien-Platz. During the year 1806, the museum purchased European insect collections that are made by Megerle and Johann Carl Megerle von Muhlfeld. They are also the first insect’s curator.
